What's in this release

Droploop 0.5.0 makes the moments around a raid clearer and a lot more social. You check your kit before you drop, a downed player can call for help and anyone can pick them up, and you can join a party member who is already in a raid. It also fixes a handful of problems found since 0.4.0.

Before you drop

  • Kit check. A new screen shows what you are taking into the raid, row by row, before the drop. Pressing DROP keeps the same frame and fades to black into the join instead of cutting away.
  • Every hazard level, every cycle. The drop menu used to leave out a hazard level some cycles. Now every cycle offers all five.
  • Easier hazard level 1. Scavenger and civic sites at hazard level 1 have fewer enemies and softer squads.

Downed and revive

  • Yell for help. A downed player, solo or in a party, can call for help. Your party sees a marker, an arrow at the screen edge and a toast.
  • Anyone can revive anyone. The Revive prompt now appears for any downed player, not only your party.
  • Bandages revive. Revive a downed player with a bandage.
  • Downed looks downed. A downed figure slumps while still and crawls while it moves.

Playing together

  • Join a party member's live raid. If someone in your party is already in a raid that is still open, the drop menu shows their raid with a JOIN button, and the Social pane has a Join entry next to them. If you cannot join, you get a message saying why.
  • A Social button in the hideout with a badge for pending requests.
  • Party status in the Social pane. Friends and the roster show who is in a party, and each member's status.

Smaller changes

  • Jams. When your weapon jams, it flashes red with a prompt, and R clears it.
  • Salvage missions now ask you to recycle salvage, so they no longer read as asking for the fabrication bench.
  • Item cards show a description. The old lore text is gone, and item and mission text got a plain-language pass.
  • The ship's bridge windows in the hideout are solid. You can no longer walk through them.
  • Missions never block a login. If the mission list changes under a saved mission, your progress is reconciled when you log in instead of locking you out.
  • The website shows how many players are online.

Updating

Your account, stash and progress carry over. There is no reset this time. 0.5.0 needs the new client. The launcher offers the update when you start the game, and older clients are told to update before they can join a raid. The web client updates the next time you load the page.
